Manbae Arirang Bossam is always mentioned when talking about must-visit places in Gangseo-gu!

It's so famous for being delicious that I went to try it (I visited the main branch near Hwagok Station). First, their bossam suyuk uses hangjeongsal (pork jowl), not pork belly! It felt a bit different from the bossam I usually eat, but it was tasty!

The jaengban guksu I ordered as a side was more disappointing than I expected... It looked really appetizing, but it wasn't the kind of makguksu we usually have at bossam places (it kind of had an overpowering chojang flavor...?).

But the kalguksu was insane — this time it was so good I was surprised. It was so delicious that I half-jokingly suspected the owner might have planned to open a kalguksu restaurant and ended up opening a bossam place instead (^_^)b

Overall, I had a reservation, but apparently this place normally has an enormous wait... (after we went in, a long waiting line formed behind us). Still, I don't think it's worth waiting that long just to eat there. Of course it's tasty! If it were in my neighborhood I'd probably go occasionally, but if you have to travel a bit it feels like it's not really worth spending the time going and waiting.
