This time, I visited Chamsae Jubang Ansan Jungang and ordered their signature dish, 'Hwasan Sukiyaki'. First, the flashy presentation caught my eye, and the way you pour the soy-based sauce yourself and simmer it was unique. Personally, when I added all the sauce and simmered it, it was a bit salty and worked perfectly as a drinking snack; if you don't like salty food, I recommend pouring the sauce sparingly or adding a little water to adjust the seasoning.
The meat was sliced a bit thinner than typical thin-sliced meat, so it had a very satisfying, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness when chewed. There were also more bean sprouts than I expected, so they paired well with the meat. If you find the portion lacking while eating, you can order extra meat and bean sprouts separately, so keep that in mind.
Overall it was a well-executed dish, but two adult men might find one main dish a little small in portion. Visitors should consider adding extra meat or bean sprouts, or ordering other side dishes from the start to enjoy the meal.
