What I liked most when I visited and ate at this place was how friendly the staff were.

The interior was more spacious than I expected, which surprised me! I figured the tables would be packed together in a pub, but they were spaced quite generously.😲 The layout is somewhat ㄷ-shaped, with the seating area in the center and the kitchen and counter along one side.

I visited on a weekday between 6 and 7 PM, and there were already a fair number of customers. There were more groups of several people than small parties, so I thought it would be better to make a reservation in advance.🤔

The restaurant is on the second floor, so if you sit by the window you can enjoy a refreshing view while dining!

One downside — which could be a plus depending on the situation — is that there can be a bit of cigarette smell near the windows. (If you tell the staff, they’ll likely adjust the window. They told me they had opened it in advance and planned to close it after some time.)

From reading reviews, the anju selection is varied, so people’s tastes differ a lot lol.

The weather was a bit chilly that day and I was craving fried food, so while looking at the jeon options I couldn’t resist ordering the Chamnamul Shrimp Jeon. It costs 19,000 won! I like shrimp dishes, so I had high expectations.☺️ Since it’s a jeon, it took a little while to prepare.

My first bite was like, “Wow, this tastes really healthy…!” It wasn’t bland — it was tasty — but overall it felt very clean and wholesome, which was a bit surprising lol.

The slightly peppery taste and texture of the chamnamul matched the shrimp well, giving it a crispy yet fresh feel. It reminded me of the wholesome flavors your elders make when you go to the countryside..🥹

It comes with soy sauce; I recommend tasting it on its own first, then dipping it in the sauce. For this dish, the soy sauce definitely gives it a kick.🤭

FYI, the shrimp tails are not removed, so you’ll need to remove them yourself!😉

The restroom is about a minute away on the same floor, so it wasn’t particularly inconvenient.

The only drawback was the crowd. 🥲 It was pretty noisy — so loud that it was sometimes hard to hear during conversation lol. I wouldn’t recommend it if you prefer quiet places, but if you want to enjoy Korean and Western-style anju in a lively atmosphere, I recommend it!
