It's already my seventh visit to Jeil Jemyeonso NC Iseuteupol! Every time I go I think, "What should I eat today?" but I always end up satisfied. This time I ordered the Spicy Shabu-shabu and swapped the noodles for rice.
To cut to the chase, it was a great choice! The broth was spicy as the name suggests, but it wasn't just heat — it had a refreshing, clearing flavor. I'm on the sensitive side when it comes to spice, but it was mild enough that I could eat it comfortably. The vegetables and meat were generous, so the longer it simmered the richer the broth became, and eating it with rice made it much more filling. That final spoonful where the rice soaked up all the broth was truly the best.
The dumplings we ordered as a side exceeded my expectations. They were packed full, and when you bite into one the juices flowed out wonderfully. They paired well with the main dish, so I'm glad we ordered them.
At this point I think the owner almost recognizes me! Next time I'll try another menu item to keep working my way through the menu.
