Today I visited Topyeong Hanwoo Sogopchang in Ansan.
I liked that the meat comes pre-grilled, so you can eat quickly, and the side dishes were tasty. They have a special spicy sauce unique to this place, and dipping the meat in it was really delicious! However, I wouldn't recommend it for people who can't handle spicy food — I tried dipping once or twice and eventually had to give up.
The kimchi soup that came with it was a bit too sour for my taste, maybe because they used very sour kimchi. But the complimentary fresh raw liver and omasum were really satisfying. The seating is somewhat cramped and a little uncomfortable, but the food is good, so I think I'll revisit soon!
Tips for visiting!!
Pre-grill service: Because it's pre-grilled, you can eat shortly after ordering — perfect for someone impatient like me.
Special sauce: The restaurant's spicy sauce is a highlight! But spice-sensitive people should be careful. (I gave up halfway..😂)
Side dishes: Fresh raw liver and omasum are served, great for cleansing the palate. However, the kimchi soup is quite tart and may be divisive.
Atmosphere: Seating is a bit tight, but if you like a bustling, popular-restaurant vibe, I recommend it!
