I visited Yangpyeong Haejangguk near my office for lunch today. There were several items on the menu, but I was craving something spicy, so I ordered the Chadol Haejangguk.
The hae jangguk served in a stone pot was filled with plenty of scallions and tender chadolbagi beef, and just looking at it felt hearty. In particular, the deep, spicy broth really warmed me through; it was perfect as a hangover dish.
Side dishes included kkakdugi and kimchi, and the crunchy, well-fermented kkakdugi paired especially well with the hae jangguk. I also liked that I could make my own dipping sauce to dip the meat in according to my taste. It was a hearty and satisfying lunch.
